GRRR. So last friday, my kid passed out in the van about 45 minutes after I had given him his a.m. dose of Seroquel. This was on the way to school, I was able to wake him up, but he couldn't walk, and was slurring like a drunken sailor. I was thinking I would just drive him to the ER, but I figured, he was somewhat oriented to time and place, so I took him home and called the doc. Well, GUESS what? THE STUPID doctor NEVER called me back. Not ever. So I am completely furious, and the only thing I can think of is that it might have gone into his system a little faster than normal because I gave it to him when he first started eating breakfast as opposed to giving it to him after he ate. I have one more appointment with this doctor, and I made Alex a new appointment with my doctor. He will not be going back. I don't need someone who won't call me back, especially when my 6 year old is passed out on my couch for hours when he really should have been taken to the ER to have his vitals monitored. Dumb me, I figured if it was really serious, the nurse or doc would call me right away and tell me to take him in. Found out that wasn't really the case, since when I looked at it with my doc in the PDR, he needed to be at the ER. I have been thinking of switching for quite some time, but this did it for me. I NEVER call the office during the month, so it isn't like I am calling him every week and bugging him. I am COMPLETELY furious. So after his appt the beginning of April, he will not be going back to that guy... and I will not wait so long to change again if I don't like what the next doc tells me. I am the consumer... there are places I won't go since they have treated me badly, so why do I take my kid to a doc I don't like????????? thanks for letting me vent. :) Sarah
