Since it's November, a new skin will be put up here in Venting & Support. Until we get the final vote, I took the ghosts off since All Hallows Eve is
gone & All Saints Day is drawing to a close.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted lately. I had the flu. I had to send
Christian to stay with my in-laws. I am feeling much better now. I took time to read some on the message board, but if I am not current, I'm sorry.

We have had a calm couple of weeks too, no temper tantrums. DD asked me last week if I did not think she was doing better off meds, that the meds screwed with
her mind! Of course she calls me today to say her poker game was at the same time as my meeting at church and that maybe BF's mom would watch boys as well
as her own grandkids until I can get them! Heaven forbid kids would come first!
We had beautiful weather for Halloween and the boys had a blast trick or treating. DH handed out a buch of candy at our house.

Thanks for the well wishes, Rayni! I'm feeling so much better. That flu was wicked!! Glad you're feeling better too, Kaye! Did anyone else in your home
get it? DS had it also the same time I did. We both just crashed in the family room during the day, and then I slept on the couch at night, and dh took care of
ds during the night so I could sleep. DS couldn't sleep, up all night coughing. I felt bad because I couldn't really take care of him, but dh stepped
up and did a great job.
DD17 isn't talking to me right now, still angry because I was upset with her. She isn't really talking to anyone in the house right now - must be very lonely. Hopefully she will come around soon. I'm feeling better about it now.

We tried to get an H1N1 shot Tuesday but were turned away. Went again very early Saturday and waited in line 5 hours but finally got one. One of Alex's
friends has H1N1 and had several visits to emergency so with the asthma that he and I have, I was worried. Relieved to have it finally. Our shots were later
than yours because we have this new kind of shot never given here before, not like yours which is the same as the regular flu shot. We couldn't get one at
the doctor's office, only at a clinic. Thankfully, ours was in the mall. Plenty of bathrooms, food, coffee and I did some shopping too. I brought my laptop
with a movie for the kids, we played cards and did crosswords.
The next day, Matthew had a high fever, Alex and I had chills. We ached all over and I spent the day in bed. Matthew is sick. Alex and I just felt like we had the flu. I am feeling better today but Alex still has chills. Matthew's fever is gone but he is coughing and has a sore throat. DH didn't go with us as he is still getting over his cold and only "high risk people" were supposed to go last week. Now they are saying they didn't order enough vaccines and they might run out next week. Idiots! 3 birthdays down around here and just mine to go so things are getting calmer. DH's was on Friday.

We had a warmer evening for Halloween after a snowy winter storm. DGS really enjoyed the holiday this year, but had a rough day after. I think having preschool
and daycare closed for two days during our snowstorm was hard for him. He misses the structure when he is at home. We need to set up more of a schedule for
weekend days, but I'm not sure about a snow day schedule. I suppose we could copy his school day schedule. We had a preschool parent-teacher conference
yesterday and dgs is doing well.
We are well except for lack of sleep. I hate time changes, even the falling back this time of year. I hope everyone who is sick recovers quickly. Terri dd is 23, dgs is 3 |

Terri - I get online and look up preschool worksheets. It's amazing how many free printable things you can find. The boys love sitting and doing worksheets
or art projects with grandma.

Welcome back Bj, are you feeling better? I'm still jealous of your hair. My bff told me my hair was getting too long to spike it, LOL. Well, if I can ever
sit still long enough, DH will take the clippers to it & shorten it so I can spike it.
Anita, good idea. My DSs loved to do that. We'd do it during the summer months when they were out of school or when they were on year-round, we'd do it on their breaks.

Welcome back, BJ. Good to "see" you! We are fighting colds but no flu yet! Hope all who are sick get better quickly. Saw the neuro doc today with DS
but will put DS's life and activity in a new post - probably tomorrow. Not much else new going around here. DH is doing skits/drama at church; I am back at
work after being off for time with dear sister and her passing a few weeks ago. All are doing well. We've been shopping for new appliances since we have
finalized the purchase of the house we are living in (which was my mom's). It's been fun to "shop" and look for just what we want - not
something to just make do and get by!
Have a good week everyone!

Not much happening here. Alex was sick but seems to be much better now. I feel like I am fighting something but too busy with work and family to take a day for
me. I have started seeing a chiroprator for my back. Never put alot of stock in them but am desperate enough for relief that I said what the heck.
Eliane, when putting my house back together after the flood I also was able to purchase appliances ect...on the get what I want (within reason) not just to get by plan. It is wonderful fun, enjoy. Welcome back BJ and thank you Kaye for the little notation on my Alex. I am so happy for him. He just got his drivers license and I was able to get a good student discount on my insurance WooHooo!!! Hope all that are sick are better very soon. |

Hey all,
We have had our share of the flu in this house, if it isn't one kid or adult, it's another! I have been very lax in checking in here! Sorry. I haven't had a good read around but thought I'd post and say Hi. We have had the madness of Halloween, Now it's Birthday weekend-Max is 7 tomorrow! Mine was on Tues, so it seems never ending. Then it will be on to Christmas madness aka obsessing about everything there is to do about Christmas on J's part!
I'll try and have a read and catch up but if I can't get caught up, forgive me and I'll start fresh.

Max is 7!?!?!?!?!? Wasn't he just 2 the other day??? Happy belated birthday. I hope you are all on the mend. Haven't had any swine flu here, knock on
wood. I got in Mother's fridge the other day to put the eggs away. I found 2 onions rolling around on the shelf. So, I took them out & put them on a
plate on top of the microwave. I told her that I had heard raw onions are supposed to capture flu viruses, so don't put them away, LOL. I have onions in a
wooden onion bin here. It could be an old wives tale, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
