:welcome2 It is frustrating even in the continental U.S. to try and find specialists for our loved ones, so it must be VERY hard under your circumstances. I'm glad you have the computer and are doing some research on your own. After you've researched a little, you may be able to see if the descriptions of bipolar seem to fit your son and you might even be able to print it out for your dr or the school. Some of the people here talk about documenting behavior - if you then document your son's behavior - days and times of certain behaviors, and even his reactions before and after he takes the meds, they might see a pattern or that the meds are not helping. It is true that in many cases, if a bipolar person is mistakenly given meds for ADHD, it can actually worsen the symptoms and behaviors.

Keep us posted, okay? Getting in touch online with NAMI may offer some suggestions in your case as well - I know a lot of people here talk about the organization. It sounds like you need to find people that can come up with a creative solution due to your location, but I always believe where there is a will, there's a way - so don't give up! Also, most posting goes on over at the main forum, Venting and Support, so feel free to pop over there and maybe someone will have additional suggestions for you. We're glad you found this board -- it really does help talking to people that understand. :hug88
