I haven't read the Explosive Child, because my daughter had outgrown most of the violent behaviors by the time it came out. But I've read so many descriptions from others that I'll take a stab, until someone who really knows answers.

Thats a HINT!

Basket one is life threatening behavior. The behaviors that must be dealt with immediately.

Baskets two and three or those we need to be careful to not overreact to. Basket two is (I think) important to deal with in some way, but can wait until things are calm and we can think it through.

Basket three is behavior we would deal with if our child were 'normal'. But with this child it's not worth it. We need to pick our battles and let some things go.

Please, those of you who have actually read the book, jump in here.
