Kathy, my dd stressed for days and days, maybe even a week or more about the new school year this year, in the beginning, and how it was going to be different and forever changed and everyone fun had graduated, yada, yada. I of course reasoned with her and explained it would not be exactly the same each year but it might be fun this year if she gave it a chance. After a few days, when we went to visit the psy doc, she was so relieved to tell her that everything was BETTER than last year....ACK! All that drama and she decided things were fine. I have a feeling E. is going to be this way until she is out of school officially and can "see for herself" that things are just fine. I hate that. It's like IMPOSSIBLE to comfort them, I think!! Perhaps an anti anxiety might be added short term to help her through this rough patch at some point? Hoping the Trileptal increase will work instead, though. That would be best probably. Is she taking anything to sleep at night?
Hugs...these times are so hard for all of us regardless of where we are in terms of dealing with our kids' issues, I think.
