You have all hit the nail/nails on the head. JoAnn, E told me yesterday, in passing, that she will only be at her high school for 3 more months. I know this is a constant stress for her. We are trying our best with this. I'm not sure what else to do. She will be going to the community college, we have decided together, so she will still be living at home and able to visit her teachers and friends that are staying in the area. I thought that would help with all this anxiety. She is so not ready to live on her own yet.
Terri you are so right, I'm a bit out of practice with all this. She is in a "it's all about me" mode. Her resource room teacher has been spending extra time with a troubled boy, and E is really bothered by this, talks about it almost every day. She is angry about it. She says that the boy is a hopeless cause, and Mr. S shouldn't be wasting so much time with him. Also, she is upset because Mr. S treats this boy differently than he treats her, and she said "Mr. S said he has higher expectations of me - that's not fair". Almost everything E says is like this, about her, her, her. At home too - nothing is fair.
This morning she got up ok, did her hair and put on makeup - a big difference from yesterday. She said she slept well, which helps!
