Consumer & Family Empowerment: F
15% of Total Grade
Includes measures such as consumer and family access to essential information from the state, promotion of consumer-run programs, and family and peer education and support.
This part really struck me. The only advice I get from the professionals is to put my son in a state run group home. He has not hurt anyone (yet, they think he will). He does smoke weed and hang out with bad people. They say we have no other options unless he gets stable on meds. Until 4 days ago, ds was not med compliant. No one shows compassion to him. They treat him like a brat and tell me to get rid of him.
My dh thinks that because they wouldn't hospitilize him, that means I think he is BP and he really isn't, but is just a juvenile delinquent. He also wants him in a group home. There is no educating him even if there were programs in our state to educate the families. I can't even find a NAMI Family to Family course. My other dc would possibly benefit from it, because they don't understand this whole BP dad and BP brother thing.
Our family is being ruined by this whole thing and there is no one to help us or care about us.
