Thanks for the info, Kristin. I will look into it.
As far as the cost of Abilify -- I checked it out on my insurance's website (we have to do mail order if it is a long term Rx -- don't EVEN get me started on that nonsense) and it will be about $200 for a 3 month supply. I am seriously lucky to have insurance becuase it would be close to $900 w/o it. I haven't priced the Concerta because as selfish as this will sound, I see DD's cheerleading class going down the drain everytime I think about all the wasted $$ on the old meds and the cost of the new ones.
I am a little concerned about taking DS off of the current mix since he is doing so well, but he did take Abilify in 2005 and he was doing great. We had to come off of it at that time because it had gotten so expensive (over $800 my cost for 3 months at that time). It seems like we've progressively gone downhill since 2005, so I'm clinging to the hope that he will respond well to it again.
He brought home homework last night and actually did it! I was pretty doggone proud of my boy. The thing he kept saying was that he had "promised" his teacher he would do it. I shook my head -- where has this "sense of duty" been? And better yet -- how convenient, huh?
