This seems to be one area where my DS is different. He gets "fixated" on sports. I mentioned the rowing to him last night and asked if he would like to try it. After first complaining that the other kids were a lot taller than him and how could he possibly do it. I explained it doesn't have anything to do with height, it has to do with strength and "we all know he's strong". He then said yes he wants to do it and called his friend to tell him "Ya, I'm going to do rowing". The ego had inflated. I corrected him and said we would try to get a scholarship for him (its $950.00 for spring session eek but only $50.00 for the January session which I think we'll try first). Although he does try to avoid going once enrolled and I have to make him go. He enjoys every minute of it once he is there. All I hear from the school is that he is quite the "social butterfly" and he has "lots of friends" yet he doesn't have them "outside of school". He currently has one that he does things with but this particular boy is your typical "talk on the phone" teenager. He called my DS last night and then thought of something he needed to tell another kid and asked my DS if he could call him back. LOL ... Call him back ... who did he think he was? My DS let him have it and told him "Don't Call me BACK". Then hung up and ranted all around the house about how the boy annoys him and wanted to talk to someone else more than him. The boy called back a couple hours later and he answered with "I told you NOT to call me BACK". He then proceeded to tell him he was watching a movie and he didn't want to talk to him, not to call back and hung up. Poor DS ... he wonders why he doesn't have friends.
