I tend to agree with Heather. It seems like the p-doc is doing this (being so non-aggressive with the meds) because he will be away for so long (6 weeks I think you said? That's a mighty long vacation!). On one hand, I can understand him wanting things to remain "stable" while he is away to minimize the involvement of a covering p-doc who is unfamiliar with the case, but on the other hand, as Heather pointed out, where does that leave you and Alex? This certainly is NOT a clinically optimal situation for Alex.
