I'm skeptical about the food and dye allergies being culprits to behavior. I know there is lots of anectotal evidence about sugar and dyes making kids hyper and difficult, but, to the best of my knowledge, there are no real scientific studies to confirm these hypotheses.

If you have already taken your son to an allergist and the MD has ruled out allergies, I wouldn't spend too much more time on allergies.

A number of people are, even as adults, lactose intolerant and have a very real reaction to dairy products. But I believe this is also a testable hypothesis with a reputable physician. I have to check the data again, but I believe I read that this is less common for people of Northern European ancestry than other racial or ethnic groups.

But truly there is so much that medicine and science still doesn't know and certainly BP and ADHA is still a very young area of study and concern. There's a lot more to learn.

One of my favorite resources on foods comes from CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest) and their monthly newsletter, Nutrition Action. They always have the latest information on foods, nutrition, and health. I've been a subscriber for some time and have always found their articles very helpful in separating out truth from myth in food health. Here's a link to their website: www.cspinet.org/
