There are pediatric neurologists who do special testing –a regular eeg won't show these seizures they have to do (for one thing) sleep deprived ones. Like Jenny said, it can be hard to "catch" them having a seizure. And these seizures can be invisible to the naked eye – look like they're just spacing off or maybe not even that much of a noticeable thing.
