Meds are sure interesting. Hilary has been on Seraquel in the past up to 400mgs a day, and they never put her to sleep. She takes 25 mgs Seraquel in the mornings and 50mgs in the late afternoon, and 50mgs at night now, and I give her extra Seraquel if she starts to get upset and it looks like we might be headed for a meltdown. :boing2

Seraquel works very well in calming her down in these situations. The only times it makes her sleepy is if she has been sleep deprived, such as on New Years Day when she came home from an overnight where I later learned she had stayed up until 5AM.

She was really agitated when she got home and was planning to go out again immediately. She threw a vase in her room, and I gave her a 100mg Seraquel to calm her down. That did the trick and she was in bed asleep within an hour. It was just what she needed. This was unusual, as most of the time the Seraquel just calms her.

The problem with us with Seraquel is that it gives her an appetite, and she is concerned about maintaining her weight. If it weren't for that problem, I would consider Seraquel a "miracle drug."
