Sarah,
I am very angry that the doc treated yous that way. And aren't they the ones that are supposed to get it?? They are the ones that we are to trust that they are doing the best thing they can do for our kids.
Cole was started on Seroquel at the hospital. He is up to 125 mg just before bedtime. None in the AM. He hasn't slept well for months. He does so much better when he gets his 11 hours of sleep. He isn't tossing and turning with the Seroquel.
I took Wes to the ER once when he was sleeping so hard from a new med, I think tenex, that I couldn't wake him. I put him in the car to drive 45 mins away. Got there and they made me feel really stupid. His respirations were low and his response to anything was nil. They let him sleep it off. We were there for over 6 hours. How frustrating. We know our kids better than any pdoc or ER. My mobile therapist says to go with my gut. Go with your gut and your heart.
Glad he is okay. Good luck with finding another doc. They should be one that will take the time with yous, be willing to listen to you, no matter how silly you think it is, and just be available.
to you.
Barb
