Rex, We are battling the weight issue at our house too. We had a great combo going and Ashley puffed up like a blow fish (20 lbs) and she is 5'2. Anyway, out went the Zyprexa. She is now on Lamictal and it is supposed to be weight neutral or even a bit reducing. It does take forever to get the dose raised due to danger of side effects, but I am very impressed with what we are seeing at 100 mg. (4 weeks of raising to get it here) However, it is combined with Lithium so we still have the appetite thing going. I just wrote a post about Zonegran. It is supposed to offset some weight gain but it was not strong enough in the past to work against Zyprexa. I am willing to give it another try.:crossed I will share any good news I have and hopefully someone will have some positive feedback on that post. We've been diagnosed a year and still have not been stable but one month. Since the Lamictal it looks like we are heading to stable ground again. I sure hope so, summer's just around the corner!!
