Hi Rhonda and Welcome!!!

Sorry to hear that your grandson is having such a hard time of things. Sigh....like the others said, it can be very frustrating finding the right medications to help these children. I agree with Sharon that Seroquel needs to be used along with a mood stabilizer. My daughter has been on Seroquel for over two years, and takes anywhere between 300-500mg a day. I too am concerned about her body, but I make sure we do a full liver function panel, EKG, glucose tests, and a variety of others twice a year to keep my mind at ease. Seroquel has been a miracle drug for my daughter and we have absolutely NO intention of discontinuing it, I've never heard of it not being used long term, hmmm...These medications can take 6-8 weeks to work too...sigh...it's exhausting...I'm glad that you can be there for your daughter. Hang in there and keep his pdoc informed of all the issues at hand.
Hugs,
Angie
