I've never heard of seroquen. Do you mean Seroquel? If it's Seroquel, I don't understand what the doctor meant by its not being for long term use. Most of us here have found Seroquel to be very calming and sedating if it gets to a therapeutic dose and usually when taken at bedtime, helps to assure an uninterrupted night's sleep. It has been accepted by the FDA as able to calm mania.

Also, FYI, my daughter has Type One (insulin dependent) diabetes, and Seroquel hasn't been a problem for her in that regard. She became diabetic before she started taking BP meds.
