1/2 medium onion, coarsely chopped
1 clove garlic, coarsely chopped
1 cup water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
3 1/2 cups pumpkin puree (1 large can)
1 Tbsp. chili powder
red pepper flakes to taste
1 can bean with bacon soup
1 soup can water
1 can pinto beans w/bacon
1 can pork & beans

I simmered the onion & garlic in 1 cup water with the chicken bouillon until the onion was translucent. I added the pumpkin, bean w/bacon soup, a soup can of water. Mix well. Added the rest of the ingredients. Stirred well & let the soup simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavors blend together.

Nick did not like it because of the texture. D-M didn't think it was spicy enough, so he added more chili powder. Don thought it was just right. Mother didn't like the red pepper flakes. She kept adding water & vinegar to try & dilute it. It was too spicy. Don thought it was just right & I think I would add cajun seasoning next time instead of red pepper flakes.

Nick knew it was pumpkin. He tried it, which is more than he usually would have, but the texture was too coarse.
