Darn it! It's a good lesson for all of us. I wonder where I can put my meds so that dd can't get them, but the rest of us can?

Angela, I bought one of those metal boxes from Target that you can store money in. I took out the plastic compartment section and just use the box. It has a
key which I taped to the back of a piece of furniture. The other key is on my keyring in my purse. You gotta watch your purse then of course. Our kids are very
resourceful, y' know?

I recently had a keypad safe installed in my laundry room. It's probably the size of 2 shoe boxes put together, so it's not that large. It was for my
grandmother's jewelry, but I will use it in the future for meds, too. Since it has a code, DS won't know it. They aren't that expensive and you can
pick one up at Lowe's or Home Depot. I happened to have had a BIL who is in security and he installed it for me in the laundry room because he said an
interior wall is best in case of fire.
Just a thought in case keys are an issue.

Well the thieves will be vastly disappointed in my house to see there is NO jewelry and absolutely no valuables within my safe box. LOL. I don't think
anti-psychotics are really sought after either, sigh. My "safe" is boring.

I think you can get keyed "medicine safe's" at Home Depot and Lowe's as well. Jason's brother and his wife are foster parents so they
have to have a state approved one. I will ask her where they got it and let you all know.

I am sorry that it took me so long to get back. Our firewall at work as now blocked this website so I can't get on there. After working and thrapy and then
coming home to fix dinner ect... i am lucky if I can stay awake past 8:30. my back is sore and hurts in the morning and I am very tired. Other than that things
are fine. We are still waiting to contact the contractor.... trying to give hm some time to greive his brother and get it all together.
Jordon's friend Nick would have been 19 yesterday, so Jordon and few of close friends went to dinner and the cemitary last night. it was -25 so they did not stay at the cemetary long. I have gotten a small safe and am using it now for meds. Sad that they can't be trusted with anything. I will try and get caught up with everyone else's life tonight ot tomorrow for sure. Thanks everyone for all your support. Lynn Alex 16 - Dyslexic Step Mom to :

The safe box I purchased was about $15! So, that is good enough for what I need it for...hope you didn't spend an arm and a leg, Lynn. I am sorry you are
still so tired....please post again soon when you have more time.

Nicole, I believe the medicine safes I have seen are just child locks, not keyed. Let us know how that works with the state approved ones, though. Just curious
what the state requires.

I also have a small security box for important papers and have used it for meds at times. It was inexpensive and has a key. However, my dd has been known to
hunt for keys and I have been known to end up locked out of my own room as a result! So locking things up didn't always work well for me.
Lynne, I hope you are still taking things easy and not doing too much. You are still recovering and don't you forget it! LOL I'm lousy at taking care of myself and trying to get better, so I understand overdoing. Please don't worry about keeping up with us. Just read what and when you feel like it, and you will be caught up enough. I had to learn that to avoid getting burned out and needing to take breaks from here. Terri dd is 22 |

Amen to what Terri said! You are not fully recovered, and you must take it easy! Hot baths with Epsom salts - that seems to work for my joint pain somewhat,
maybe helpful to you?

Oh and I should say I upgraded my safe yesterday to a combination lock model. It was online at Home Depot. The price included shipping! It was $53 yesterday.
Glad I ordered it then. I think I will store my cookies I don't want her to eat in there. LOL. No, I will put birth certificates and stuff in there though.

LOL about the cookies, Heather. Did you order girl scout cookies too? LOL I have to hide those. They are so darn expensive and you don't get many.... I
hide them in the freezer.

Chris, I didn't get any GS cookies this time. I guess I forgot. Ack! I hide the cookies I get from our specialty grocer though. They aren't cheap and
she will eat them ALL at once! Yes, my safe will be full of fun stuff. He he.

Better not tell me where your safe is... I LOVE COOKIES! Our friend just moved to Cleveland. He is an Air Marshall. Too bad though.... marriage is in trouble
and this move separates them. Not good.

What a shame, Chris. If he needs help getting settled or anything let me know. Do you know where he moved specifically. Right now it is so cold here!

I don't know exactly. I need to talk to him. I feel bad for them. Both kids are grown and she's having a time for herself... wouldn't move with
him. They were having probs before this move came up. Gave her an excuse not to go. Sad...
