        <![CDATA[ Over the last couple of weeks Taz started becoming more &amp; more afraid.  He&#39;s locking doors, won&#39;t go into his room, won&#39;t go to the bathroom
unless someone is standing outside of it...need I say more.  He was so afraid 2 nights he thought someone was knocking at the door in the early morning.  He
came in my room w/an opened Swiss Army knife &amp; the second night same problem, but dd found a steak knife on the counter &amp; asked if he took it out.

He does check the door many times from the time he gets home from school until bedtime.  Sometimes he&#39;ll still be awake &amp; call for me to sit w/him and
asks if the door is locked.  He locked Andy out of the house yesterday, while Andy was outside doing something in the yard.  Tdoc said that she felt he had
intrusive thoughts &amp; that all this was a compulsion.

			<description><![CDATA[ Just for general info, in OCD, there is a normal worry that has escalated out of proportion to the situation (the obsession) that is causing the compulsive
behaviour. For example, if you worry about people breaking into the house, you check that the door is locked before going to bed. OCD is checking the door 3
times before going to bed. Or checking every 5 minutes.

			<description><![CDATA[ Sorry I don&#39;t have any advice but can relate. A few years ago we went through this with E - she couldn&#39;t be alone in the house, even though she was old
enough. She was afraid that someone was always in her closet, or that dh or I would get hurt somehow. Lots of unrational ears. I don&#39;t remember
exactlyright now, but I think we had a med tweak and it helped. ]]></description>

might be due to the seasonal change; however she didn&#39;t have his file &amp; didn&#39;t know the dose of lamictal he was on, but said she thought it was
200mg.  She said to bump it another 50mg and call her.  I called back to tell her she put him on 250mg about 1 to 2 wks ago &amp; I would bump it to 300mg but
got voice mail; what a... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ At one point they thought Alex had OCD so I read up on it a lot. This doesn&#39;t sound like OCD. It sounds like paranoia/delusions. I don&#39;t think the tdoc
can help much.

I would say he needs either more Seroquel. I believe the aps work better on the irrational thinking than the mood stabilizers.

Please lock up all the knives. You never know when their fears will drive them to do anything, including kill themselves, to make the fear go away. ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ My 8 yo ds has that problem. He goes long stretches without worrying too much then all of a sudden he starts having anxiety about someone breaking in and
checks all the doors. Won&#39;t stay in a room by himself, especially if dark. I have to wait right outside the bathroom door or he freaks. He does have
social, phobic and general anxiety along with everything else. Not much advise, we just ride it out. ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>My dd has had some very similar problems.  At one point we thought she might have an underlying anxiety disorder.  Now the pdoc feels it&#39;s more
paranoia/psychosis related.  Raising her risperdal seemed to really help the problem especially the night time robber fears.  She also had some weather related
ocdish problems that raising her lamictal (she needs between 300 - 400mg) seemed to help.
